Lesson 4b - Additional Education Databases

1.  My first search under Teacher Reference Center gave me 46 results.  When I limited my results to full text and after 2008 I got 8 results.

The APA citation I chose was:

Gordon, D. (2011). REMOTE LEARNING: TECHNOLOGY IN RURAL SCHOOLS. T H E Journal,38(9), 18-24.

All I did was copy and paste.  I hope I did that right.

2.  When I used ERIC I got 297 results.  When I limited these to full text and after 2008 I got 12 results.  Their were several that came up that didn't have PDF or HTML options.  So I clicked on one of the titles.  And under Availability near the bottom their was an url you could click.  But also you can click FULL TEXT under the title on the page before that and you'll get the same result without having to look for "Availability" on the next page.

3.  Under Profesional Development I got 57 results.  After narrowing that down i got 10 results.  And they do overlap!

4.  After clicking all 3 databases I got 384 results.  After narrowing that down I got 21 results.  It seems to me that it would be just quicker just to click all three databases together.  Since they seem to overlap some. On the contrary if you're trying to get a specific audience in mind, you might try the separate database that might help filter out the unnecessary ones.  After all if you punch in all three databases your search is broader it seems.
